Register at the Foreigners' Desk
Foreign newcomers who have just arrived in Zwolle must register with the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA). The Vreemdelingenloket (Foreigners’ Desk) of the municipality of Zwolle registers newcomers with the Municipal Personal Records Database. Foreigners who are residing in the Netherlands for the first time can also contact the Foreigners’ Desk to request a residential permit.
The Foreigners’ Desk service is by appointment only. It is located in the Stadskantoor (municipal office building) at the Lübeckplein 2. Phone: 14038 (if dialing from abroad: 0031 38 498 91 11).
Report to the Integration Department
Once you have registered with the Municipal Personal Records Database and requested a residential permit, you must report to the Afdeling Inburgering (Integration Department), where you will receive information on what must be done in order to integrate as quickly and successfully as possible.

Citizen Service Number
Once you have registered with the Municipal Personal Records Database, a 'burgerservicenummer' (citizen service number) will be requested automatically from the tax authorities for you.
